Wine Tasting - Bosca Verdi Spumante

"A sweetheart is a bottle of wine, a wife is a wine bottle."
Hi everyone.  Now that the weekend is behind us, let's have a fast work week in order to arrive at the next weekend before we realize that it's here.  Be good to your neighbor and be good to your Earth.

Sparkling wine.  Who doesn't love sitting on a back porch on a hot Summer's day, sipping chilled sparkling wine, enjoying the breeze of a floor fan, and admiring the birds who visit the feeder before you?  Sparkling wines have both their time and place.  The only downfall is that they don't keep their effervescence well.  These are the bottles of wine you plan to finish in one sitting, preferably with the company of wine-loving friends.

Tiffany and I found a most delicious and incredibly affordable Italian sparkling wine at our local Walmart store.  We had to drop by to give some blood work (there's a LabCorp inside our Walmart) and we needed some fresh "penskis" (jalapenos).  We decided to see what affordable sparkling wine they had for sale.

Chucky's Point Score:  84
Tiffany's Point Score:  86

Tasting notes as follows.

Chucky's Tasting Notes

Chucky's Notes:  "Nice refreshing light bubbly sweet wine.  For the price, incredible!  Quenches the palate nicely.  Not too strong in fruit flavor but nice.  Can't wait to mix with the Crème de Violette and Grand Imperial Orange Liqueurs."

Tiffany's Tasting Notes

Tiffany's Notes:  "Very light bouquet followed by explosion of tree and tropical fruits with a wonderful sweet creamy finish!  Love it!  :)  Love the sweetness!  Love this sparkling wine!  Great to have any day of the week and also on special occasions.  Very safe one to have on hand for guests!"

The label simply reads as follows:

"The new sparking sensation from Italy!"

Their web site reads as follows:

"Verdi Spumante is a natural, sparkling beverage imported from Italy.

Deliciously sparkling and zesty, it has a soft and fruity flavor.  Serve chilled to fully enjoy its balanced, clean, delightful taste.

Verdi Spumante is a perfect crowd pleaser for every occasion.  Its elegant taste appeals to all... and its re-sealable cork closure preserves the sparkle until you're ready for the next glass.

This malt beverage with natural flavors is the new fun drink alternative and the fastest-growing sparkling Italian Spumante in the U.S.!"

This spumante is crisp, effervescent, has the perfect sweetness, nice to the wallet, and tastes darned nice!  Oh?  And added bonus that I haven't seen before.  This wine comes in a resealable bottle.  A plastic top that reseals to prolong the freshness of the wine.   No, I wouldn't keep it too long before finishing the bottle but it certainly will probably add an hour or two of life to your sipping experience.

Guess what?  Tiffany and I both agree that we'll be picking up two more bottles during our next trek to Wally World (Walmart).  Delicious, refreshing, and the low alcohol content translates to low calories.  Healthy wine?  No, there probably isn't such a thing but it certainly beats it's average wine cousin sitting on the shelf.

Hi-dee hi-dee sparking-wines-have-a-chilled-place-on-my-table-on-a-hot-Summer's-day-ho my friend.
