Wine Tasting - L'Orval Chardonnay 2009

"Drink a glass of wine after your soup, and you steal a ruble from your doctor."
 - Russian proverb

Drinkin' wine spo-dee-o-dee drinkin' wine!  Guess what Tiffany & I did today after running some early morning errands?  This afternoon's selection was a $5.00 bottle of wine that we purchased from Eat More Produce.  Coincidentally, Eat More Produce was on the itinerary this morning. We bought two more bottles of P.K.N.T. Carménère among other items.

Chucky's Point Score:  88

Tiffany's Tasting Notes

The label reads as follows:

"A soft gold-colored wine.  Honey flavours give way to pineapple, pear and vanilla."

If I had to point to a Chardonnay expert in this family, Tiffany gets the acclaim.  She noted the pineapple and vanilla notes of this selection without previewing the label.  I noted the pear on the nose and on the palate but, all in all, her tasting notes reflect a more accurate synopsis.

We both fell in love with this wine and wish we could jump into our bathing suits and take a dive into each glass!  Only $5.00???  Amazing, simply amazing folks.  I would have not hesitation or reservation serving this Chardonnay to my guests.  Yes, even guests that I like.  If you love Chardonnay, this is a classic French one.

Hi-dee hi-dee we've-found-yet-another-extraordinary-valued-Chardonnay-ho my friends.
