Wine Tasting - Domaine Toussant Vouvray Chenin Blanc 2009

"He who loves not wine, women and song remains a fool his whole life long."
- Johann Heinrich Voss

Greetings and salutations my friend.

It's time for the third white wine sampled at last month's "The Grapes Less Traveled" class.  This one made of Chenin Blanc grape heritage.  The stinky on the nose is pleasantly surprised by the sweet on the palate.

Chucky's Score:  87
Tiffany's Score:  90

Chucky's Tasting Notes

Tiffany's Tasting Notes

I smelled funk (dirt) on the nose whereas a fellow classmate described it more appropriately as "wet dog".  Melon, grass and honey on the palate.  Somewhat the "classic" French style wine, if I may be so bold.  There is an elegance with French wines rarely copied elsewhere in the world.  The smells are ancient and old and the tastes are classic and complex.

Tiffany and I are 3-points different on this selection.  She rates it 2-points higher on the Fruit Intensity and 1-point on the Taste Characteristics.  We both rated same for Nose Intensity, Balance and Length.  Three difference in points but we both liked it very much.

Hi-dee hi-dee here's-a-toast-to-you-ho my friend.
