Wine Tasting - La Castellina Chianti Classico 2007

"In victory, you deserve champagne, in defeat, you need it."
 -- Napoleon

I wish each and everyone nothing short of a spectacular day!

Yes, you've got it.  Another wine selection from the April 17th "The Wines of Tuscany" class that Tiffany and I enjoyed.  I would like to tell you that one of the nine wines tasted was not really that good.  But this would be a lie and I would never wish this!  They were all terrific wine selections, this wine included.  I would expect nothing less from an Italian wine carrying the DOCG seal of approval.

Point Score A:  91
Point Score B:  90

Review A

Review B

Once again Tiffany and Chucky share a similar opinion.  However, this time we have Wine Spectator Magazine sharing our rating.  What does this mean to you?  Absolutely nothing.  I would not profess either Tiffany, Wine Spectator Magazine or myself be supreme in opinion.

The website reads as follows:

"Dominated by fruity notes among which marionberry, cherry and red-bay fruits can clearly be distinguished.  Among secondary and tertiary aromas, well harmonized scents of oak and spiced notes typical of Sangiovese emerge, especially pepper and cinnamon."

We both found this a smooth wine with notes of fennel.  Reviewer A could smell the fennel and Reviewer B could taste it.  Says something about the difference of the senses huh?  Anything with fennel simply can't be wrong!

Hi-dee hi-dee try-a-wine-today-with-an-unexplored-note-ho my friend.
