“I recently had my annual physical examination, which I get once every seven years, and when the nurse weighed me, I was shocked to discover how much stronger the Earth’s gravitational pull has become since 1990.”
- Dave Barry
Expressions of good things to one and all!
I was at the doctor's office yesterday and today. As a matter of fact, two doctor visits and some lab work before heading off to work this morning. I won't go into details right now but let's just say that Chucky might just deflate any moment now due to all of the poking. prodding, and prickling he's been given lately. After all, there is only so much a little 4-foot plastic doll can take! <hehe>
When I was giving blood at the lab this morning, the phlebotomist asked which arm she should draw blood from. The right or left arm? I quickly informed her, "Guess what? I've got blood in both of 'em! That's not helium filling up this large frame of mine. And... it's quite heavy blood, I might add. I just got weighed at the doctor's office yesterday."
No, I'm not going to provide a picture today because I'm not looking significantly different than my original baseline on November 1, 2010. Actually, I'm heavier today than when I became a vegetarian.
But... but... I've got some wonderful news to share! If you recall, last week (7-25-2011) I weighed 344.0 pounds at the doctor's office. This elicited a "Vegetarian Reborn" response. So after seven (7) days removing processed foods from my diet, driving towards a vegan lifestyle, and imparting juicing into one meal per day; I am happy to report that I lost 13 pounds this week. And I might add, easily so! I'm not starving and have been eating plenty. It's simply a change to plenty of fruits, seeds, and vegetables. No processed foods and no cooking oils.
Anyway... here are the metrics that I am able to share with you. Trust me... it's only going to get better week by week.
WEIGHT (newest to oldest)
- 8-2-2011, Dr Y office visit - 330 pounds
- 8-1-2011, Dr X office visit - 331 pounds
- 7-25-2011, Dr X office visit - 344 pounds
- 11-1-2010, home scale - 318.4 pounds
BLOOD PRESSURE (newest to oldest)
- 8-2-2011, Dr Y office visit - 122/84 mm/Hg
- 8-1-2011, self-test blood pressure - 125/75 mm/Hg
- 11-1-2010, self-test blood pressure - 123/79 mm/Hg
PULSE RATE (newest to oldest)
- 8-1-2011, self-test pulse rate = 76 pulses/minute
- 11-1-2010, self-test pulse rate = 74 pulses/minute
BLOOD GLUCOSE (newest to oldest)
- 8-1-2011, self-test Glucose (fasting) - 120 mg/dL
- 11-1-2010, self-test Glucose (fasting) - 114 mg/dL
So... Exactly what have we learned here? First, becoming a vegetarian is not a placebo for assured weight loss. You can easily lose weight as a vegetarian if you pass-up the processed foods. Stick with natural, organic, raw and vegan wherever possible. Don't believe me??? Ha! Simply keep on checking in because you ain't seen nothing yet!
Hi-dee hi-dee simply-being-a-vegetarian-proved-not-to-be-my-quick-diet-fix-ho my friend.
